Your privacy is very important to us. At The Romello A. Marchman Foundation we have a few fundamental principles that we follow:

  • We don’t ask you for personal information unless we truly need it. (We can’t stand services that ask you for things like your gender or income level for no apparent reason.)
  • We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, track how we can make improvements, or protect our rights.
  • We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required for the on-going operation of our site.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, RAM collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. RAM’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how RAM’s visitors use its website. RAM does not share this information outside of the charity unless required by law.

RAM also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for users who have logged in. Our site does not currently allow for direct comments. If our site allows comments in the future, users leaving comments will have this IP address information collected. RAM only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that any blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to RAM’s websites choose to interact with RAM in ways that require RAM to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that RAM gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, if you complete a form on our site, that form includes some personal information. That information is stored and used for the purpose(s) identified by the applicable form.

Those who wish to receive The Romello A. Marchman Foundation updates via email, we collect their emails. In each case, RAM collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with RAM. RAM does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

We do not request and do not collect any information concerning your race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, political affiliation, or anything similar. If you choose to disclose this or similar information in a comment, a form (our forms do not ask for this information) or other correspondence with us, we may choose to delete that information for your protection.

Donations

Our work relies on donations from people like you. Individual donations are primarily made through our automated online donation system. Since we receive these donations through third-party vendors like Stripe, we only see who made the donation, the address of that person or company, and the amount. We do not have access to your personal credit card or bank account information. If you are concerned about privacy from our vendors, please contact them.

If you choose to donate by mailing a check, we only see the information on that check. We will record the donation in our records. We will include your name, address, and the amount of the donation. This is to comply with IRS reporting requirements. Once your check has been deposited through our bank, we no longer have that check.

Aggregated Statistics

RAM may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its website. For instance, RAM may monitor the most popular pages on the romellomarchmanfoundation.org site or use spam screened by the Akismet or similar services to help identify spam. These statistics about use of our website are for our internal use only and are not publicized.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

RAM discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on RAM’s behalf or to provide services available at RAM’s website, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using RAM’s websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. RAM will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, RAM discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when RAM believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of RAM, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of an RAM website or have completed a form on our site and have supplied your email address, RAM may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with RAM and our efforts. We expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via an email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. However, such information will only address the request or issue that you have raised and will not identify you as the source of that issue. RAM takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by RAM and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

Comments

Comments and other content submitted to Akismet or other anti-spam service are not saved on our servers unless they were marked as false positives, in which case we store them long enough to use them to improve the service to avoid future false positives.

Privacy Policy Changes

Although most changes are likely to be minor, RAM may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in RAM’s sole discretion. RAM encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.

What data breach procedures we have in place

In the unlikely event that there is a data breach, we will notify you as soon as possible after the breach has been identified. We are as concerned as you about data breaches and misuse of information. Because of that concern we have taken all reasonable steps along with our website host to prevent unauthorized access to our website data. As noted above, other than your name and donation amount, we do not store you credit card or bank account information anywhere on our site.
